About National Cadet Corps
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a Tri-Services Organisation comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force, committed to grooming the youth of the nation—the Leaders of Tomorrow—into disciplined, responsible and patriotic citizens.
The NCC unit of RV College of Engineering (RVCE) was established in 2008 and functions under the 1 Karnataka Signal Regiment NCC. The unit has a sanctioned strength of 80 cadets, comprising 30 cadets in the Senior Wing (girl cadets) and 50 cadets in the Senior Division (boy cadets).
Training schedule & Academic
All NCC activities commence at the beginning of each academic year, with a total of 20 parades scheduled on Saturdays and general holidays, ensuring that the academic routine of students remains unaffected.

Cadets of RVCE NCC, under the leadership of CSUO Preetish Mishra and SUO Chinmaya R and guided by CTO Dr. Ajay K M and Ex-ANO Capt. (Dr.) Mahendra Kumar S have been trained to rise to occasions of responsibility and leadership, embodying the values of strength, resilience and service to the nation.
Recruitment Process
- NCC recruitment is held at the start of the academic year.
- Students who are interested in joining NCC can fill out the required forms and register when intimation is received.
- These students will be called for recruitment to test their physical fitness, mental strength and psychological aspects to be fulfilled.
- As part of the selection process for the National Cadet Corps (NCC), candidates will undergo a series of physical fitness assessments designed to evaluate their endurance, strength, and overall physical condition. The assessments will include a 2 km run, a set number of crunches, push-ups, and sprints. These physical tests aim to ensure that candidates possess the necessary fitness levels to participate in the demanding activities of the NCC. Successful candidates will demonstrate physical resilience and a commitment to maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.
- The students will be interviewed by the Commanding Officer of the regiment, ANO and the Senior Under Officer.
- The results of recruitment will be announced accordingly.

Training
The total training period for SD and SW is 3 years, with an extension of 1 year permissible. Every cadet of the Senior Division has to undergo service training for a period of at least 4 hours per week during the training year. However, no training is carried out during periods when the college or school through which a cadet is enrolled is closed for a vacation. Every cadet of the Senior Division has to undergo service training for a minimum period of 75% of the total hours during the annual college session. Every cadet attends an annual training camp of 9–10 days, also known as the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC). At the end of the camp training, the cadets receive a certificate of successful completion.
Activities
In addition to routine training, the cadets actively participate in various centrally organised camps. Cadets demonstrate exemplary levels of discipline, endurance, teamwork, and leadership, showcasing the true spirit of NCC at the national and international stage.

Certificate Examinations
Certificate - A

It can be written by JD/ JW cadets of NCC, cadets of classes 8 & 9. After passing those classes, it can't be obtained.

The candidate must have attended a minimum of 75% of the total training periods laid down in the syllabus for the first & second years of JD/JW NCC(All Wings)

The candidate must have attended one Annual Training Camp.
DURATION

Certificate - B

It can be written by SD / SW cadets of NCC, cadets after class 10 & those studying for +2, +3 (degree)

In the second year of training, they can appear for the same. The candidate must have attended a minimum of 75% of the total training periods laid down in the syllabus for the first & second years of SD/SW NCC (All Wings).

He/She must have attended one Annual Training Camp/NIC. Cadets possessing an 'A' certificate will be awarded 10 bonus marks. An air wing cadet must do a minimum of 10 Glide launches.
DURATION

Certificate - C

It is the most important certificate for NCC cadets.

Now it can be written in the 3rd year of training, in the 3rd year of degree course / those having a B certificate can write it in the first year after their +2 and in the 1st year of degree by SD / SW cadets only.

The candidate must possess a 'B' certificate. Must have attended two ATCs or one ATC, and in addition to it, anyone among the following: RD Camp Delhi, Centrally Organised Camps, Para Training Camp, Attachment Training with service units, National Integration Camp, Youth Exchange Programme, Foreign Cruise(Navy).

The cadets play a significant role in college events of national importance, such as Independence Day and Republic Day, performing Guard of Honour and ceremonial duties with utmost precision and pride.
Cultural expression is encouraged and celebrated at various NCC camps, where RVCE cadets have made their mark through performances in dance, music and other artistic domains. To foster continuous growth and motivation, the NCC unit organises seminars and talks by esteemed personalities from sectors such as the armed forces, civil services, and public service, providing invaluable insight and inspiration to the cadets.
Campaigns
The spirit of social responsibility is deeply ingrained in the unit’s ethos. The cadets have actively contributed to cloth donation drives, organised blood donation camps, supported COVID-19 vaccination efforts, and led tree plantation campaigns, reaffirming their commitment to community service and national development.

SHAURYA is an event conducted by NCC RVCE in ‘8th mile’, the annual techno-cultural fest, where NCC cadets from across colleges and spirited non-NCC students come together for a taste of military challenge. From mastering Map Reading to witnessing an electrifying Weapon Display, every moment is action-packed. Kholna-Jodna tests speed and focus with real-time weapon handling, while Obstacle Training pushes your limits. It’s not just an event—it’s a battlefield of skills and spirit, inspiring you to lead, endure and rise like a true warrior.
