Academic Eligibility – Four Year B.E. Programmes:
1. For General Merit Candidates:
- A candidate must have passed 2nd PUC / 12th Standard / equivalent examination with English as one of the languages.
- Minimum 45% aggregate marks in Physics and Mathematics (compulsory) plus Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics (optional).
2. For SC / ST & OBC (Cat-I, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B) Candidates of Karnataka:
- A candidate must have passed 2nd PUC / 12th Standard / equivalent examination with English as one of the languages.
- Minimum 40% aggregate marks in Physics and Mathematics (compulsory) plus Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics (optional).
- If the marks in Chemistry are lower, marks in Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science or Electronics from the qualifying examination may be considered instead to meet the required aggregate percentage.

DETAILS FOR LATERAL ENTRY PROGRAMMES
Academic Eligibility:
- Admission to the 2nd year / 3rd semester B.E. programme is open to candidates who have passed a Diploma examination or equivalent examination with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks across all subjects in the final year (5th and 6th semesters).
- For SC, ST and Backward Class candidates of Karnataka, a minimum of 40% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination is required.

Academic Eligibility - Master of Computer Applications (MCA):
- Admission is open to candidates who have passed BCA, a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science Engineering or an equivalent degree. Candidates with a B.Sc., B.Com. or B.A. degree are also eligible, preferably with Mathematics at 10+2 or at the graduation level.
- Candidates without a Mathematics background must complete and pass the bridge courses as prescribed by the University.
- A minimum of 50% aggregate marks across all subjects in all years of the qualifying degree is required. For SC, ST and Category-I candidates of Karnataka, the minimum requirement is 45%.

No, JEE Mains scores are not considered for admissions at RVCE.
RVCE does not conduct any entrance examination and does not consider JEE Mains scores.
Classes commence as per the academic calendar issued by the Government and our University. The exact dates will be shared on our website and notice boards once confirmed.
