Dr. Minal Moharir

Programme Coordinator (Cyber Security)

Greetings from RV College of Engineering!

As the Program Coordinator for the Cyber Security programme, I am delighted to welcome you to one of the most exciting and rapidly growing domains in the digital world. At RV College of Engineering (RVCE), we are dedicated to nurturing the next generation of cybersecurity professionals who are well-prepared to face the complex and ever-evolving challenges of digital security across industries.

Our B.E. in CSE (Cyber Security) programme offers a rigorous academic foundation, combined with extensive hands-on experience in key cybersecurity domains such as:

  • Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing
  • Malware Analysis and Reverse Engineering
  • Network and Application Security
  • Applied Cryptography
  • Cyber Forensics and Incident Response
  • Cloud and IoT Security
  • Threat Intelligence and Risk Management
  • Ethical and Adversarial AI

The program structure emphasises real-world exposure, integrating industry-driven projects, research-based learning, and strategic collaborations to build a comprehensive skillset. Students benefit from our strong academic-industry partnerships, including a formal collaboration with EC-Council, a global leader in cybersecurity certifications. Through this partnership, students have access to globally recognised certifications like Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and Certified Network Defender (CND), along with exclusive training workshops and expert-led seminars.

To further enhance experiential learning, RVCE has launched the RVCE Cyber Range—a state-of-the-art cybersecurity simulation platform designed to immerse students in realistic cyber-attack and defence environments. This cutting-edge lab provides the tools and environment needed to simulate, detect, and respond to sophisticated cyber threats in real-time. Our students have completed prestigious internships at leading organisations such as SAP, Fidelity, HPE, XPMC, and SkySecure, gaining valuable hands-on industry experience and exposure to enterprise security practices.

We are proud of our accomplished faculty team, many of whom hold PhDs in Information and Network Security with research expertise in areas like blockchain security, AI-driven threat detection, and cyber forensics. Several faculty members have completed advanced certifications such as CEH and CHFI (Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator) from EC-Council, ensuring our classrooms are infused with industry-relevant knowledge and practical skills. The department actively collaborates with international research centres, such as the Cyber Security Research Centre at THWS University, Germany, promoting global research engagement and student exchange opportunities. Our faculty members have published extensively in reputed journals and conferences, with a cumulative citation count exceeding 1000, reflecting the depth of our research contributions in cybersecurity.

We are committed to supporting you at every step of your academic journey and empowering you to become an ethical, resilient, and future-ready cybersecurity professional. Please feel free to reach out for any guidance, collaboration, or queries related to the programme.

Warm regards.
