ENGINEERING IDEAS INTO

DIGITAL REALITIES

Established in 1963, the Department of Chemistry provides foundational Engineering Chemistry courses to all first-year engineering students. The department also offers Technical Chemistry to all second-year Chemical Engineering students as well as global electives for higher-semester students across all engineering disciplines.

The department boasts twelve proficient faculty members and two research laboratories. As a recognised research centre under VTU, it currently supports eight Ph.D. scholars. The department actively mentors final-year engineering students on various projects. Its research interests encompass Medicinal Chemistry, Inorganic Complexes, Nanomaterials, Elastomeric Materials, Organic Material Synthesis and Electrospun Nanofibers. The department has demonstrated its research prowess through publications in national and international journals, book publications, inventions, and patents.

Founded in 1963, the Department of Chemistry offers Engineering Chemistry to first-year students, Technical Chemistry to Chemical Engineering students (third and fourth semester), and global electives.

As a V.T.U. research centre, it supports eight PhD scholars and mentors final-year engineering students. Research interests include Medicinal Chemistry, Inorganic Complexes, Nanomaterials, Elastomeric Materials, Organic Material Synthesis, and Electrospun Nanofibers, with publications in national and international journals, books, inventions, and patents.

Vision
