Turning Vision

into Concrete Reality

Established in 1963, the Department of Civil Engineering offers B.E., M.Tech. (Structural Engineering, Highway Technology), and doctoral programmes, led by highly qualified faculty. A recognised VTU research hub, it guides doctoral research and has gained national and international recognition for its contributions. The department also hosts a HUDCO chair focused on sustainable, low-cost construction.

Beyond academics, it provides consultancy and training for government bodies. Committed to holistic student development, the department fosters industry ties through MoUs, visits, lectures, workshops and internships, leading to excellent placements in top companies. Addressing societal issues, it conducts environmental research with KSPCB and has secured funding from DST, AICTE, ISRO and VTU for various projects, including air, water and noise monitoring stations.
