This laboratory plays a crucial role in understanding the fundamental behaviour of materials under different loading conditions. It enables students to practically apply theoretical knowledge from subjects like Strength of Materials and Materials Science. By using machines like the Universal Testing Machine, Torsion Testing Machine, Impact Testing Machine, and Hardness Testing Machines, students gain hands-on experience in evaluating key mechanical properties such as tensile strength, torsional resistance, impact toughness, and hardness of various engineering materials. This practical exposure is essential for enhancing analytical skills, promoting research, and developing a strong foundation for design and safety considerations in real-world engineering applications.

The Concrete Technology Laboratory is vital for evaluating and understanding the properties of concrete and its constituents, which are fundamental to civil engineering. This lab provides students with practical exposure to the behaviour of concrete under different conditions and mix proportions. With equipment like Vicat’s apparatus and Vee Bee consistometer, students learn to assess the workability and setting time of cement. The compression testing machine enables testing of concrete strength, while the compacting factor test and accelerated curing tank help analyse compaction and curing characteristics. Tools like the jaw crusher and concrete cutter aid in preparing and testing various concrete specimens. This hands-on experience strengthens students' knowledge in designing durable and efficient concrete structures in compliance with industry standards.

The CBR testing equipment is essential for analysing the load-bearing capacity of subgrades and pavement layers.
