into Digital Realities
Established in 1984, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering offers B.E. degrees in Computer Science (since 1984), with specialisations in Data Science and Cyber Security (from 2022-23) and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (from 2024-25). The department has secured INR 1 Crore in research funding and published approximately 550 papers in the last five years.
The department has strong industry partnerships with IBM, NOKIA, CISCO, Citrix and Infosys for research, consultancy and training, supported by CISCO and IBM labs and an Nvidia GPU research centre. Students research areas such as Computer Vision, Data Mining, Networking, High-Performance Computing, AI/ML and NLP, leading to placements in companies like Apple, Google, Microsoft and others.

Welcome to the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at RV College of Engineering (RVCE) — a leading institution known for academic excellence, innovation and a commitment to shaping future-ready technology professionals.
It is gratifying to note the completion of four decades as a department in RV College of Engineering. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is a dynamic hub of innovation, creativity and academic excellence. Our mission is to equip students with a strong foundation in computing principles, practical skills in modern technologies and a mindset for lifelong learning. We strive to foster an environment that encourages research, entrepreneurship and collaboration across disciplines.
The B.E. (CSE) programme at RVCE is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for a period of six years. The recently introduced programmes, B.E. (CSE–Data Science), B.E. (CSE–Cyber Security) and B.E. (CSE–AIML), in our department also uphold the high standards in technical education and continually evolve to meet the demands of a fast-changing digital world. We also offer two Master’s programmes, M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and M.Tech. in Computer Networks and Engineering (CNE). These programmes are aligned with advanced industry trends and research directions. Both the M.Tech. programmes are accredited by NBA for three years.
