The Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, formerly known as Instrumentation Technology, was established in 1981 with an initial intake of 40 students and currently admits 60 students annually. 

Renamed in 2014 to reflect its evolving focus, the department offers a curriculum that is regularly updated to meet industry demands while also promoting advanced research through its Ph.D. programmes. Modern laboratories equipped with the latest technology support students in hands-on learning and innovation. The department has been accredited multiple times by the NBA (New Delhi), with the undergraduate programme having received its most recent accreditation in 2024, affirming its commitment to academic excellence.
