MESSAGE FROM HoD

Welcome to the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management!
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our dynamic and forward-looking department dedicated to excellence in education, research, and innovation. We strive to nurture creative problem-solvers and future-ready professionals through a learner-centric and outcome-based education (OBE) framework.
The B.E. (IEM) program emphasizes both theoretical and practical learning through project- based pedagogy, hackathons, tech fests, and student clubs. Our curriculum is meticulously designed to provide a strong foundation in core industrial engineering domains such as Operations Research, Supply Chain Management, Quality Engineering, Ergonomics and Human Factors, Systems Engineering and Simulation. We have integrated cutting edge modules such as Analytics, Artificial Intelligence in Industrial Engineering, Digital Supply Chains and Sustainability Engineering.
Our experienced and dedicated team of faculty members, supported by state-of-the-art
laboratories and strong industry collaborations, ensure that students gain hands-on exposure to current technologies and managerial practices. The department actively engages with ndustry partners through MoUs, guest lectures, live projects and workshops, aligning our programs with the evolving needs of the job market.

Research and innovation are integral to our vision. The department’s Centre of Excellence in Supply Chain and Logistics Management promotes cutting-edge research, consultancy, and sponsored projects. Students and faculty work together on interdisciplinary initiatives that create tangible industrial and societal impact.

We are equally committed to social responsibility. Through community service and outreach activities, students apply their technical knowledge to design solutions for social good, engaging with schools and NGOs to make a difference.

Our strong alumni network continues to be a pillar of support, contributing through mentoring, career guidance, and placement assistance. Their success stories inspire the next generation of IEM professionals to lead with integrity and vision. Our graduates are highly sought after by a diverse spectrum of organizations, including leading manufacturing behemoths, consulting firms, IT giants, e-commerce leaders and analytics firms. Typical roles the graduates take on include Supply Chain Consultants,  Business Analyst, Quality Engineers, Business Development Executive, Operations Analyst and Continuous Improvement Engineer. This is a testament to the versatility of IEM graduates from RVCE.

At the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management, we take pride in shaping graduates who combine analytical thinking with innovation and leadership, ready to make meaningful contributions to industry and society.
