The Experiential learning scale up the learning curve of students to new heights to gain advanced knowledge and hands on practices. The Department inculcates four different verticals as:

4. Holistic Development and Professional Ethics

Department is actively engaged in the following activities to foster research and innovation:

• Department has got a Research center affiliated to VTU, Belgaum established in 2010 with 35 research scholars enrolled for PhD program.
• Active promotion of research culture through funded and consultancy projects from Nvidia, WiC-USA, HPE, ABB, Samsung, BAT conservation of India, KSCST and many more.
• Faculty and students’ proactive involvement in authoring paper publications in refereed journals and conferences and patents in practice.
• Student involvement in research, consultancy through CoEs/innovation labs, minor and major projects with real-world problem solving.
• Partnerships with R&D organizations, innovation cells, and start-up incubators is in progress.

Department is well-equipped with the state-of-the-art computing facilities and laboratory as Specialized Labs for Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning GPUs from Nvidia, Cloud computing and Automation software facility from WiC, USA, IoT kits and accessories for IoT Application development, Kali Linux platform for Cyber Security, Programming & Data Structures Lab to mention a few. To facilitate the process department has licensed software and open-source platforms installed for hands-on experience.

Department promotes and encourages faculty participation in FDPs, MOOCs and online certifications, Industry connect programs, Technical and pedagogical workshops. Faculty are also involved in research work and many are awarded for their contributions in CoEs, research and professional activities.

Our emphasis on academic rigor, hands-on learning, industry collaboration, and ethical responsibility prepares students to thrive in a rapidly changing digital world. Through a balanced focus on core knowledge, practical exposure, and soft skills, we shape well-rounded individuals ready to contribute meaningfully to society. Apart from academics, students’ continuous participations in Internship, Hackathon, competitions, tech fests, extracurricular activities innovative clubs, NSS, NCC and activity points makes them understand the techno-cultural aspects of society and orients for innovations which helps both organizations and society at large. To support such activities department has got Coding Club to strengthen the student’s technical expertise and interests. Lot of community and outreach programs has been taken to train underprivileged students of Government institutions, to create awareness on SDG goals, Civic and societal projects etc;

The unique feature and strength of department is the placements, which records all high in the history of RVCE with 92 LPA for the student of 2020-2024 batch in UiPath company. Consistently our students have outdone and showed excellent performance in placements with a record of 18.8 LPA as median salary package.

Department has got strategic MoUs with Government and private industries as WiC, USA, JP Morgan Chase, ABB, HPE, IBM for research and development, consultancy, technical talks, partial delivery, events etc;

Department asset lies in the fact as strong Alumna connect. Alumnus are involved very actively in preplacement sessions, partial delivery, workshops, mock placements, project evaluations etc;
