Maths Main Department
Established in 1963, RVCE’s Department of Mathematics is a highly respected and long-standing department crucial to the institution’s growth, known for its quality education and significant contributions to mathematical research.
Recognised as a VTU research centre, the department has 19 approved research guides, mentoring 16 research scholars (8 completed). This blend of teaching and research highlights its vital role in academia and science. The department’s research spans Pure Mathematics, Applied & Computational Mathematics, Mathematical Modelling and Quantum Computing.
MESSAGE FROM HoD
The Department of Mathematics (DoM) at RVCE was established in 1963. In its inaugural year, the department served 120 students. Since then, it has experienced remarkable growth and over the past six decades, it has proudly taught more than 10,000 students in just the last five academic years.
Starting with a modest team of three faculty members, the department has expanded significantly and now comprises 24 faculty members, 23 of whom hold Ph.D. degrees, while one is currently pursuing a Ph.D. The DoM actively contributes to teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as offering institutional electives.
