The Department of Mechanical Engineering at RV College of Engineering, Bengaluru, has been a cornerstone of excellence in Engineering Education and Research since its inception 1963. With a strong foundation in fundamental principles and a forward-looking approach towards emerging technologies, the department continues to nurture competent, innovative, and socially responsible engineers.
Our curriculum is designed to blend theoretical knowledge with practical exposure through industry collaborations, internships, and multidisciplinary projects. The department’s highly qualified and dedicated faculty members guide students in areas such as Design, Manufacturing, Thermal Sciences, Robotics, Automation, and Sustainable Engineering.
In addition to academics, we encourage our students to participate in professional societies such as FPSI, ASME, SAE and ISHRAE as well as technical competitions and research initiatives that foster creativity and leadership. The department maintains strong ties with industry and research organizations like Merce, ensuring that our graduates are well-prepared to meet the evolving demands of the global engineering landscape.
