About The Club

SPARK (Study through Projects and Activities for Renewing Knowledge) is the official IUCEE Student Chapter at RVCE. It provides an innovative platform for students to learn beyond traditional classroom boundaries, fostering skill development, knowledge sharing, and real-world problem-solving. With a mission to enrich the student community through a blend of technical and cultural engagement, SPARK nurtures curiosity, creativity, and collaboration. Through workshops, expert talks, and interactive events, the club promotes critical thinking, innovation, and holistic growth. As a part of the IUCEE ecosystem, SPARK also facilitates inter-institutional collaborations across India, offering students exposure to diverse domains and perspectives.

Participated in IASF 2025, winning 4 out of the top 10 Design Thinking awards and Best Student Chapter Award.

Won High-Octane Award in IASF 2024

Launched the podcast series “The Insight”, completing 5 episodes with 15,000+ views.

Conducted EduAIthon successfully, a 48-hour hackathon with 300+ participants.

Conducted multiple industry visits – Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Kaiga Generating Station and ISRO SDSC SHAR.

How to join the club

The club is open to all RVCE students through an application and interview process conducted at the beginning of each academic year. Selection is based on enthusiasm, initiative, and alignment with the club’s mission. Keep an eye on SPARK’s official announcements via social media platforms, email and campus notices.

  • Empow H.E.R:SPARK-IUCEE Chapter of RV College Of Engineering & Women In Engineering(WIE)-IEEE Chapter Of RV College Of Engineering proudly an inspiring panel discussion, expertly hosted by Vice Principal Dr. K.S. Geetha. The panel featured four esteemed guests were Geeta Ramanujan,Pushpaltha M S,Dr. Suja Warriar and Dr. Bindya Yohannan. 80 Female Faculty Members and female students were present for the Panel discussion on “Passion Pursuit: Navigating Challenges and Embracing Opportunities in Your Professional Journey”
  • Run For Wind:  The Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) celebrated Global Wind Day marked by the inspiring “Run for Wind” marathon. The marathon was supported by 60 students from SPARK IUCEE RVCE Student chapter.The marathon was a 4km run .The highlight of the day was the series of panel discussions featuring experts from the renewable energy sector.
  • Mini Anveshna- Building Bridges to innovation: It was an idea presentation event that promoted innovation and sustainable development among  first-  and  second-year students. Organized by the SPARK IUCEE RVCE Student Chapter in collaboration with Agastya Foundation and Samsung, this event provided a platform for students to present solutions aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 16 teams participated, showcasing their projects to a panel of distinguished judges.
  • Through the Eyes of YOUth 2024: The SDG Photography Competition witnessed enthusiastic participation, with 568 registrants, including 23 from other IUCEE student chapters. The event featured three evaluation rounds, assessing creativity, relevance to SDGs, and technical quality. Expert judges shortlisted entries, highlighting sustainability through impactful visuals.
  • LinkedIn Launchpad: Spark IUCEE RVCE Student Chapter hosted a LinkedIn session at the IEM Auditorium, attended by 60 first-year students. The Spark 2022 batch alumni shared insights on building profiles, networking, and career opportunities. Students actively engaged, making the session highly interactive and beneficial.
  • Workshop by RAZZ Security:  A hands-on cybersecurity workshop was organized under the SPARK IUCEE RVCE Student Chapter. The session provided students with practical knowledge on identifying, preventing, and mitigating cyber threats. Participants gained awareness of data security, ethical hacking, and safe digital practices, making the session highly insightful and impactful.
  • EduAIthon 2025: EduAIthon, was conducted to explore innovative intersections of Artificial Intelligence and Education. Over 50+ student teams participated, presenting novel ideas and prototypes. The event encouraged problem-solving, teamwork, and innovation in leveraging AI for educational advancement.
  • Agastya Foundation Collaboration: In collaboration with the Agastya Foundation, SPARK students conducted outreach sessions in government schools. The event focused on teaching science and mathematics concepts in a simple, engaging manner, fostering curiosity and critical thinking among school children. The collaboration highlighted the importance of student-led social innovation and community impact.
  • Tech Talk on AI in Engineering By Girija Kolagada: A speaker session on AI in Engineering was organized under the SPARK – IUCEE RVCE Student Chapter. The session was delivered by Ms. Girija Kolagada, Vice President of Engineering at Progress Chef, who shared valuable insights on applying Artificial Intelligence in real-world engineering scenarios. Participants gained awareness of AI techniques, data analytics, and automation trends, making the session highly insightful and impactful.

 

Industry Visit

  • ISRO SDSC, Sriharikota: The visit of 104 students from SPARK, the IUCEE-RVCE Student Chapter, to Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, was a highly enriching and insightful experience
  • Integral Coach Factory , Chennai: The spark team of 60 students each went in two different batches on 17th May 2024 and 24th May 2024 following the same itinerary.So a total of 130 students from SPARK visited the ICF in chennai.
  • Kaiga Nuclear Power Plant, Kaiga, Karwar: Students from the SPARK chapter visited the Kaiga Nuclear Power Plant, gaining firsthand exposure to nuclear energy generation, reactor operations, and safety measures. The visit provided a deeper understanding of energy systems and India’s progress in nuclear power technology.
