About the Department
Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) lies at the heart of modern technology—powering everything from the national grid to the smallest microchip. Established in 1963, the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at RVCE offers a B.E. programme in EEE, an M.Tech. programme in Power Electronics, M.Sc. by Research and Ph.D. programmes.
The department maintains partnerships with leading core industries and government agencies, including BESCOM, BPCL, Log9, MNRE, ARCADIS, MSPL, MEI, SMPS Odisha, Ampere, and more. Through MoUs, these collaborations support research, consultancy, internships, and skill-building programmes. Industry-sponsored laboratories, including those by LAPP INDIA, ABB, and FluxGen, further provide students with hands-on experience.
Established in 1963, the EEE Department at RVCE offers B.E., M.Tech. (Power Electronics), M.Sc. by Research, and Ph.D. programmes. With strong industry ties like BESCOM, BPCL, Log9, MNRE, etc., and labs by ABB, LAPP INDIA, and FluxGen, students gain real-world, hands-on experience.

The department has well-qualified, passionate and dedicated staff, most of whom are engaged in path-breaking research and development. The department has a current annual intake of 60 UG (B.E.-EEE) students and lateral entry students in the second year, and 18 PG (M.Tech. – PE) students from all parts of India.
The programmes in the department are a healthy amalgam of power engineering, power electronics, analogue and digital electronics, and computer science engineering, comprehensive and in keeping with modern trends of electrical and Electronics Engineering education.
